And here are the holidays! An interesting time to be Eating Better for sure :-\ But it’s all good. I’ve learned the tricks of trading… trading some items to eat or drink for others. For example, I chose to not imbibe this holiday weekend (here in Canada, it’s Thanksgiving!) This was the trade for gravy and potatoes on my dinner plate… and my goodness was that EVER a good trade (thanks Mum!!) So it sounds simple and it IS simple, but it’s not always easy. I think I had some help… thank you Lord!
Otherwise, I continue to drink LOTS of water, lots more fresh veggies, oatmeal for breakfast with fruit and nuts, and way fewer “goodies”. But let me be clear… this is NOT a diet mindset for me. For example, I enjoyed a monster cinnamon bun last week… well, I enjoyed it as I was eating it but I actually felt a little sick afterwards. So that’s something new! It could be that my bread/flour intake is also down quite a bit. I did go out to the pub with my brother and had chicken fingers with a tossed salad and vinaigrette dressing (instead of good ol’ french fries, thank you very much!) It was still VERY satisfying and I enjoyed not having that STUFFED turkey feeling afterwards.
So with all the Eating Better, I managed to drop three pounds over last time, for a total loss of 11 pounds. Down to 214, which is just 15 pounds from my goal of 199 by December 15th. I feel that this is achievable at this pace, and I am very encouraged. Still no extra exercise… just three walks a day with our Miss Daisy.
Thank you for your ongoing encouragement and support! If you have any suggestions or tips, please pass them along in the comments. Blessings upon you and see you next time!
